January 13th, 2008

Hey All,

The playlist for the 13th went like this...

1) Greg Brown; Good Morning Coffee; In the Dark with You

**Next three songs were on vinyl...I'm learning how to use the KMSU turntables, sort of.

2) Steve Goodman; Video Tape; Best of the Asylum Years Vol. 2
3) Steve Forbert; Romeo's Tune; Jackrabbit Slim
4) Steve Goodman; Door Number Three; Best of the Asylum Years Vol. 2

5) Jack Ingram; Dallas; Livin' or Dyin'
6) Guy Clark; L.A. Freeway; Old No. I.
7) Ray Bonneville; I am the Big Easy; Goin' by Feel

**Then played all four songs from the John Prine EP available only on itunes--this is an add on of sorts to Fair and Square and well worth the four bucks

8) John Prine--Dual Custody
9) John Prine--That's How Every Empire Falls
10) JP--That's Alright by Me
11) JP--Carousel of Love

12) Ray Bonneville; Cemetery Row; Goin by Feel
13) Robert Earl Keen; Snowin' on Raton; Gravitational Forces

Good to see your playlist with two songs by Steve Goodman. He often doesn't get his due. You might be interested in my new 800-page biography, "Steve Goodman: Facing the Music." The book delves deeply into his relationship with John Prine, who also showed up on your playlist. Please know that the book's first printing just sold out, all 5,000 copies, and the publisher has authorized a second printing that probably will be out in late February. To sign up to be notified about the availability of the second printing, visit my Internet site (below) and click on the "online store" page. Just trying to spread word about the book. Feel free to do the same!
