New Harmonies Exhibit and Programs in St. Peter

Thanks Dave for letting me hijack your blog to talk about a great exhibit in St. Peter. The Nicollet County Historical Society and Arts Center of St. Peter have partnered to bring "New Harmonies: American Roots Music" to the Arts Center Gallery. This traveling Smithsonian exhibit explores American music from slave spirituals to polka, country to the Delta blues. It's really a fascinating exhibit and open through June 11th. Check out the link for gallery hours and program information.

We're doing a lot of programming including live music, documentary film series, and more. Some highlights include "Be Here To Love Me," a documentary on Townes Van Zandt coming May 10th, Somali music on May 12th, and St. Peter Blues Fest June 11-12th.

If anyone has any questions the website can't answer, contact me at ben@nchsmn.org or 507-934-2160.

Keep tuning into Listen to Your Folks, and check out the exhibit.

thanks,

Ben Leonard
